UK Network hosts a Webinar on How to Communicate About the UN Global Compact
Thursday, February 19, 2009
On February 19th, the UK Network presented a “Webinar” - How to Communicate About the UN Global Compact. This is the second time the webinar has been presented and now over thirty-five representatives of UK-based Global Compact signatories have logged in to receive guidance on communicating about the Global Compact.
By becoming a signatory of the UN Global Compact, a CEO makes a number of commitments including: to Advance the Global Compact through advocacy and active outreach to peers, partners, clients, consumers and the public at large.
This can be quite challenging. Some companies may have a dedicated communications team that lacks knowledge about the Global Compact, while at other companies the people with knowledge of the Compact may lack expertise in communications.
To address this problem, the webinar answers the questions:
- What is the Global Compact?
- Why is it worth communicating?
- How should you communicate about it?
The webinar presentation may be downloaded here.
Net Meeting facilities were generously provided by Reed Elsevier and the webinar was hosted by Marcia Balisciano of Reed Elsevier.
For more information about the webinar, or how to communicate about the Global Compact please contact the UN Global Compact UK Network Secretariat.
