Launch of UK Network report 'The Impact of UK Companies on the MDGs'

Hosted by Reed Elsevier, the UN Global Compact UK Network held an afternoon reception on 23 June at the UNGC Leaders Summit in New York to launch its report, 'The Impact of UK Companies on the Millennium Development Goals'.

With financial support from the UK government (BIS), the UK Network Secretariat produced this report to mark the tenth anniversary of the Global Compact. The report is based on the results of a survey and interviews conducted with UK Network member companies and features introductions from non-business organisations with expertise in relation to each MDG.

UK Network member companies participated actively in the research process. Thanks to this input, the report illustrates the range of initiatives through which UK Network member companies are putting the ten principles of the Global Compact into practice and making a contribution to the achievement of the MDGs. It also outlines the challenges that UK companies face. The UK Network looks forward to sharing, and learning from, these examples.
