Carbon Emissions Reduction Strategies for Businesses
Doing Business in Difficult Places
The UK Network of the UNGC, CIFAL Findhorn and the United Nations Institute of Training and Research hosted a regional outreach event in Edinburgh on the 24th and 25th September 2007.
The first day session on 24th September, on Carbon Emissions Reduction Strategies for Businesses was led by CIFAL Findhorn and was focused on how to establish a carbon baseline and what can be done by businesses to make direct emissions carbon neutral, including energy efficiency, low carbon technologies and management of supply chain as strategies.
The morning seminar on the 25th September was led jointly by Transparency International (UK), the International Business Leaders Forum, Business in the Community and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. It focused on the challenges for business in maintaining responsible values, while operating in diverse cultural and regulatory frameworks around the world. It explored the principles and standards that companies can apply and how these play out in practice.
